Karma is a traditional Bangladeshi restaurant located in Cowley, Oxford.
WHAT WE DID
Design, development, CMS, e-commerce.
The Challenge
Karma needed a new website as they had an old and dated website. Importantly, the website needed a full e-commerce and online ordering system for their food deliveries. Additionally, the site needed a reservation booking system.
They needed a website that was intuitive for frontend users to search the food menu and add to their shopping cart, but also easy to update with new food images and prices from the backend.
The Solution
Our solution was a two pronged approach. Step one was to highlight the beautiful restaurant interior and pleasant atmosphere. Step two was to show large high-res sumptuous images of the prepared food, in order to show visitors the dishes they could expect. Step three was to introduce a wide-ranging e-commerce solution that presented all of Karma’s menu online and separated into categories. This allows visitors to choose the dishes they want delivered and also to see and create reviews on each product.
An account system allowed returning customers to quickly order their favourite foods, with a secure billing and payment system included, using the WorldPay transaction system.
A neat feature that we included to highlight Karma’s interior was the Google Business View function at the bottom of the homepage, which allows visitors to take a virtual tour through the restaurant. An easy to use reservation booking system rounds off the website.
The website stays true to the black, white and red colour scheme of the restaurant itself, while the Wordpress Content Management System means the site is easily updated with new dishes and prices.
The final result is a clean, aesthetically appealing and functional website that is focused on the ability of visitors to order food from the website.
